Relationships with “Nature”

My recent work has explored human relationships with “Nature”. Imagery has emerged from stories of the Green Man, Christic sacrificial imagery of man strung up on a tree wearing thorns, and Durer’s world of intense and focused attention to the surroundings.

After Durer's engraving of the Knight's Journey on horseback with death on a nag, dog and curios monster.
Copy of Durer engraving 1513 of Knight’s journey, death alongside him, his dog, and a curious monster,

The walks draw upon this imagery for their form and aesthetic, of accompaniment, purpose, companionship, and inclusion, and are also deeply influenced by reading Russell Hoban’s Riddley Walker .
