This group has evolved to support teenagers’ creativity, and the flexibility and resilience that come with it.

We think through making, developing new techniques, and finding ways to share ideas and responses. Each session (1hr 15 minutes) includes a prompt, restriction, or theme, demonstration of a process, time to develop an individual response in two or three dimensions, and group reflection on the outcomes.
The group suits years 8-11, and I prefer that students commit to the whole term. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be a maximum of 6 young people, and may need to adapt our way of working. If we have to suspend sessions, I will offer online support, as before (see below), work outside, or refund the students according to their situation.
Pandemic permitting, from September 2020, Creative Space will run Tuesday early evenings (5:30-6:45) at ArtSpace, Cambridge Artworks, 5 Green’s Road, Cambridge UK CB4 3EF.
If there is sufficient interest, there may be an alternative Saturday morning group, held in my studio, Manhattan Drive, CB4 1JL.
All materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to take their work home with them either each session or at the end of each half term.
5 sessions per half term, Cost £15/session.
If you are interested in joining the group, please use the “contact” button on the menu to get in touch.
Below are video prompts and responses by young people who usually meet at ArtSpace, but had to communicate remotely during the Covid-19 lockdown. From May to July we met out of doors.
